Is one day really enough for a safari?
Yes. Parks like Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Arusha National Park are close enough to give you several hours of game driving in a single day. You won’t see everything a multi-day safari offers, but most guests see plenty of wildlife and leave wanting to come back.
Which park should I choose?
From Arusha, Tarangire is best for elephants and classic safari scenery, Lake Manyara for birds and forest wildlife, and Arusha National Park if you’re short on time. From Mwanza, the western Serengeti suits wildlife lovers, while Rubondo Island is ideal for nature and birding.
Is the vehicle private or shared?
Your day trip runs in a vehicle for your party only, so you set the pace and stop as long as you like at sightings. Larger groups can share a vehicle, which brings the price per person down.
What should I bring along for a 1-day trip?
Comfortable neutral clothing, a light jacket for the early start, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, your camera and binoculars if you have them. Bring your passport, as it’s needed for park entry.
